Sustainable finance is one of the strategic priorities of the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA). Consequently, the SBA released its position paper in 2020 which outlines the ideal framework condition for enabling Switzerland to become a hub for sustainable finance. Also in 2020, the SBA developed guidelines for the advisory process for private clients. This year, the focus moved to financing activities. In particular, the SBA published the study Investment and financing needed for Switzerland to reach net zero by 2050 in cooperation with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in August 2021.

As a founding partner of the Building Bridges initiative, the SBA would like to invite you to its event Transition financing: the role of private sector financing in climate change mitigation, which will take place in the context of the Building Bridges Week 2021 on Tuesday, 30 November 2021 from 10.00 – 11.30 am.

On this occasion, Daniela Stoffel (State Secretary for International Finance) and Nathan Fabian (Chair of the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance and Chief Responsible Investment Officer at the PRI) will give a keynote speech. Jörg Gasser (Swiss Bankers Association), Catherine McGuinness (City of London), Christian Ossig (European Banking Federation), Sonia Seneviratne (ETH Zurich) and Etienne Duval as moderator will subsequently join in a panel discussion to put the topic of financing climate change mitigation into an international perspective.

As the number of guests who can participate on-site is limited, you have the possibility to follow the event online via the YouTube channel. The corresponding link will be provided shortly before the event.

The entire event will be held in English.
